Abbey Road...The Ultimate Beatles Party Band!...brings a high energy show and will take you back to the feel-good years of the British Invasion when the sounds of Liverpool crossed the Atlantic! Get ready to dance and sing to some of the greatest pop-rock music ever written!
The band began in spring of 1996 at the request of the Charlottesville Waldorf School in Charlottesville, Virginia. The school was having a fundraiser in combination with a entertainment variety show. They asked Paul Olko to put together a band to act as the grand finale of the event. Out of this request Paul(aka George Harrison and lead guitarist) put together a Beatle band called Beatles Revisited that did five Beatle songs to be the finale of the show.
This was very successful and the band made the commitment to work on being a full tribute band which would become know as # 9 Dream. After regular rehearsals and a 1 or 2 practice gigs, the band made its public debut at First Night Virginia on December 31, 1997.
It was in November 1997 that Keith Winkler (aka john Lennon) joined the band bringing his great harmonica skills and rhythm guitar. After performing as # 9 Dream up until 2003 the band was restructures to become AbbeyRoad. Barry Willard(aka Paul McCartney) “Mister Beatle Bassman”became a member of the band and stared to perform with them in 2004. Then lastly to make the group complete as it is today Billy Ballard became the Ringo Starr of the band to the drums in 2007. The band tours all over Virginia and beyond to share their love of the Beatles and their music.
