The Virginia Ramblers are legends of Charlottesville's bluegrass scene. They feature Charlie Frazier (guitar, vocals) and Donnie Shifflett (bass, vocals), longtime members of Alvin Breeden and the Virginia Cutups. Charlie and Donnie are joined by Troy Gooding (mandolin, vocals), Tom Hogge (banjo, vocals), and Richard Will (fiddle, vocals). The Virginia Ramblers create a truly traditional bluegrass sound; honoring legends such as Jimmy Martin, The Stanley Brothers, and The Country Gentlemen. They have their own list of fan-favored originals as well. Any fan of bluegrass music will be impressed by their rich vocal harmonies, on-point rhythm and instrumental prowess. Their most recent recording Bigger Than Me came out in 2016 and features both bluegrass standards, as well as some fresh, original material from the group.
