FIRST NIGHT JAZZ

First Night Jazz features music from The Great American Songbook, performed by a swinging, high-energy quartet, led by well-known local jazz drummer Jim Howe. Joining him on stage will be the internationally acclaimed vocalist Stephanie Nakasian, accompanied by legendary bebop pianist Hod O'Brien and virtuoso Lexington bassist Peter Matthews. You can expect musical fireworks and a few surprises from their special guest, the talented young singer Veronica Swift O'Brien.

First Night Virginia is an annual community celebration of the arts that began in Charlottesville in 1982 and is the second oldest First Night in the country. 2014 is the 32nd annual festival of the arts with many family-friendly activities on and around the historic Downtown Mall.
