13 Days of First Night Virginia - Day 1 - History Comes Alive

Old Metropolitian Hall on the Downtown Mall takes a trip back in time with some interesting perspectives from important historical figures when Mr. Jefferson and Lincoln's Bodyguard come to First Night Virginia this year.

Mr. Thomas Jefferson of Albemarle County, Virginia, shares a “living history” characterization, and a  performance that offer an entertaining glimpse into the comments and attitudes of one of America’s most influential, yet controversial, “Founding Fathers.”

Lincoln's Bodyguard provide a unique first person interpretation from Lincoln's time on the 8th Judicial Circuit, to his inaugural in Washington, on to the sneaking of Lincoln through Baltimore, and finally to the Lincoln assassination and more.

Mr Jefferson's Recollections has shows at 4:15, 6:15, and 8:45
Lincoln's Bodyguard has shows at 7:30 and 10:00

First Night Virginia is an annual community celebration of the arts that began in Charlottesville in 1982 and is the second oldest First Night in the country. 2015 is the 33nd annual festival of the arts with many family-friendly activities on and around the historic Downtown Mall.
